LED lights have an extremely long life span and use much less energy than 12Volt systems. LED lighting has many advantages over conventional outdoor lighting systems. They don’t have a filament that will burn out, so they last much longer. The bulb itself is also a lot more durable.

The main advantage is efficiency. Conventional bulbs generate a lot of heat (the filament must be warmed). This is completely wasted energy, unless you’re using the lamp as a heater, because a huge portion of the available electricity isn’t going toward producing light.

LEDs generate very little heat. A much higher percentage of the electrical power is going directly to generating the light, which cuts down on the electricity usage.
